Back in time...

Today was a giant step back in time for me as we took the ferry across from Port Angeles to Victoria BC, where I lived for a year back in 1986.  We made it to the ferry in PA with no worries and off again at the other end.  The GPS navigated us through Vic. very easily and we made it to Tim and Jane's in record time!

It was amazing driving through Oak Bay, remembering streets and some shops, and looking at all the beautiful houses.  Tim and Jane's is tucked away on the waterfront, unable to be seen from the street and surrounded by an amazing garden.  Thomas was immediately out on the sand at the waterfront, looking for crabs and shells. It was so great for him to be able to get out.

It was so lovely to catch up with Tim and Jane again and honestly it felt like no time since I had been here.  Jane had the old photo albums out and the kids enjoyed looking at me as a 17 year old and it brought back a few things I had forgotten.  It is interesting to hear your memories from someone else's perspective.

The house is beautiful and we have been made very welcome with the basement just for us.  It is just a beautiful, serene place.

We went for a drive this afternoon and I was able to go see 599 Island Rd and Fell St (Kew's) and the Bradley House in Duke St.  Also drove past Reynolds School.... hmmmm.  Tim Hortons which was across the road, has gone.

Tim took us for a walk along Willows Beach and around the area this afternoon which was lovely.  Good to get some exercise again.

We are having dinner with Jeff, my host sister's husband who is visiting for a huge bike ride that's happening tomorrow.  Heather (my sister who was three when I was here) couldn't make it.

Had a lovely call from Sue Gurney, my third host mum and we are going to her place tomorrow afternoon.  Can't wait to see the family there too.

599 Island Rd, where Tim and Jane lived when I stayed with them.  Currently on the market!
It is amazing to be here...  and I will cherish every minute!
