It was another big day of driving, leaving Medford before 8 am and arriving here at 6:40 p.m. We did stop twice, firstly in Eugene Oregon, where we went to Starbucks for a coffee, then up the road further to have lunch at Taco Bell. Eugene was hosting the American Track trials for the Olympic team and we did see a lot of fit looking people around. We were looking for a mall to have a bit of a shop but couldn't find one.
The countryside today was once again varied. The temperature was constant- around 12-14 degrees and the closer we got to PA the rainier it got. So much for Summer!
Grandad we saw a car that made us think of you... it was a Volvo 544, very old and not that well cared for. Ellen got a photo for you.
As we were driving into PA we noticed Walmart and to our "delight" realised it was open 24 HOURS A DAY! So after checking in we headed to the treasure trove that is Walmart, which we have all been looking forward to. We'd heard so much about it from so many people and it didn't disappoint. I was going to wash today, but instead, bought Thomas a completely new wardrobe: socks, jocks, jeans, shirt, jumper and all very cheap. We all ended up with some "great" stuff and some NOT so great stuff.... Hannah's hamburger and fries shirt is really "special"...
Tomorrow we have brekky at the restaurant and then drive down to the ferry to line up ready to leave by 8:15. Just hope we can fit all our Walmart purchases into our bags! The first thing I leave out will be the hamburger shirt!!!
